DreadNought is a relay program for playing, offline (TCP/IP) and together, our own custom patch of balance proposals that the official patches left out.
■ Fair play
- Saves are kept on a separate relay server. Hand edits, copies and rollbacks are not accepted; the server copy is restored.
- Bots, macros and cheating are monitored.
■ Before you start
- The Battle.net app must be logged in for the game's license check (a genuine Diablo II: Resurrected registered on Battle.net).
- Log in to the launcher with the ID you registered on this site. Your saves come down to the PC you log in on.
- For test play keep 'Battle.net link' at the top right of the launcher OFF. Switch it ON for official Battle.net play.
■ Playing
- HOST: create a room and play, alone if you like. Type /players 8 in the game chat to play as an 8-player game (the original game command).
- JOIN: pick someone's room in the lobby. Follow the guide shown over the game: Multiplayer → Game List → Direct Join → keep the address 127.0.0.1 and join.
- Only the same version can play together. The launcher downloads balance patches by itself; download the setup again only when the launcher itself changes.
■ Characters
- Delete or rename characters in the launcher's 'Characters' tab or under 'My account' on the site. A character deleted inside the game is downloaded again.
- If a save file breaks, 'Sync download' in the 'Characters' tab brings back the server copy.
■ More
- See the patch notes on the site for every change.
- Report problems or ideas on the site's community board.
